RaynStrom Randomly Reviews:  A Feather’s Touch ~Austin Gray

Going through his soundcloud, you’ll notice that Austin Gray’s got some very interesting and eclectic tastes, ranging from ambient, to chillout hip hop/trip hop, and jumping over to some nice orchestral pieces.

Today, however, I’m just going to talk about his EP.

A Feather’s Touch consists of 7 extremely chill, hip hoppy, pieces, and some very creative instrumentation(the title track of the EP features an Alto Saxophonist, which I thought was rather classy and deserved some recognition).

A common theme it seems through most of his pieces is micro-progression  repeated figures, and a warm sense of in piece continuity. The piece Undersea Dream for instance, uses a very heavily repeated arpeggiation, but still manages to remain interesting and truly embodies the title. 

The piece Flight really seems to soar and give one the feeling as if they’re flying right with the music, no panic, no fear, just a delicate floating sound.

All in all, really good, chill music. I’d highly recommend checking it out and downloading it(it’s free by the way, no piracy needed).

“An EP based off of an idea I had a couple years back. I brought back that idea to celebrate my third year of producing! Here’s to many more years to come. I hope I never stop this journey.”

This has been in progress for months, and I’m totally proud of it. All I can really say is that I hope you enjoy it, and if you’re one of the people who’s known me for a while, then thank you for everything you’ve done. You’re all awesome, no matter if you’ve been with me since the beginning or just popped in. Thank you all so much.
